I just wanted to give you a little update of things which have been happening, hopefully explaining why development of my website has been temporarily moved to the back-burner!
Following my presentation on 'Yoga for thoracic kyphosis' at the European CF Conference in June and starting a twitter account at the end of July (@yoga4CF), work has been naturally evolving and I have been involved in lots of exciting projects. I am in the early stages of two research proposals - one evaluating the benefits of hatha yoga on physical and emotional well-being in adults with CF; the other introducing and assessing the benefits of an online social fitness platform (pactster) for people with CF - this also involves recording 4 yoga videos which are also in progress. I am also contributing to a new section on Complementary Therapies in the National Standards of Care and Good Clinical practice for the Physiotherapy Management of Cystic Fibrosis, and I am part of the 'Activity Unlimited' working group created by the CF Trust. Also, should you be eligable and interested to attend I will be speaking at the Scottish CF Study day in November, and the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Cystic Fibrosis annual study day in January.
Additional to my 'yoga for cystic fibrosis' work, I have been helping a dear friend of mine, Ashley Moore, who has cystic fibrosis and has experienced a rapid deterioration in her health over the past year. Ashley has been listed for double lung transplantation and she is keen to raise awareness of the need for more registered organ donors. Given that Ashley is limited with time and energy for PR or campaigning I am helping her with this.
Please be reassured that the website will come soon! In the meantime please follow me on twitter @yoga4CF or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I am always open to one-to-one private sessions either in person or via Skype.
Thanks for reading :)
